Edwin brings a combination of size, strength, basketball IQ, and perimeter firepower that gives him several ways to make his presence felt whenever he steps onto the court. This shooting guard knows how to use his size to rise right over defenders, find open space beyond the three-point line, and punish a defense when help leaves him open. He doesn't want his offensive game limited to waiting for the basketball because his movement without it helps create passing lanes and gives teammates another option when the defense shifts their way. Edwin wants to make those around him better, and everything circles back to doing whatever helps his team win.
The past season tested Edwin through plenty of highs and lows, but he kept battling while averaging 15 points per game. There were stretches when everything seemed to click and others when the results didn't match what he wanted, forcing him to learn how to stay focused instead of allowing frustration to take control. One of his biggest moments came with the game hanging in the balance when he rained a three-point buzzer-beater to give his team the win. For a shooter who's put countless hours into his craft, hitting from deep when his team needed it most became a moment that showed what his confidence can produce.
Edwin believes his biggest improvement has come through greater perimeter consistency and adjusting to the speed of the game while also becoming a stronger defender. He's spent time tightening his shooting mechanics because he wants his touch from deep to become even more dangerous and reliable. While the jumper can grab attention quickly, Edwin believes his basketball IQ and court awareness are the most underrated parts of his arsenal. He studies defensive rotations, understands when the extra pass is available, and uses his size to disrupt passing lanes, giving him ways to impact possessions without needing to score.
Adversity has forced Edwin to find another path to improvement because he's gone through the college recruiting process without regular access to a gym or basketball court. Instead of allowing that obstacle to shut down his work, he turned his yard and home hoop into his training ground while staying committed to daily conditioning and bodyweight workouts. That situation demanded discipline because there was no perfect setup waiting for him, yet Edwin continued finding ways to sharpen his game with what he had available. The experience taught him that improvement cannot depend on ideal circumstances when there is still work to do.
Defense, speed, and strength became major offseason priorities as Edwin worked toward becoming a more complete guard. His daily routine includes training his body and putting up 400 to 500 shots on the outdoor hoop, using repetition to strengthen his jumper while stretching his shooting range farther from the basket. Those sessions show how serious he is about development because he understands that becoming better requires more than showing up when a gym is available. Edwin has made his own place to work, and every shot becomes another chance to sharpen the weapon that already sits near the top of his skill set.
That same work has followed Edwin into a strong fall league run where confidence, faith, and love for basketball continue driving his play. He credits hard work, putting God first, and believing in what he can accomplish as major reasons he keeps pushing himself. His approach is built on playing hard because he loves the game, and that passion gives all those hours spent training a deeper purpose. When preparation meets confidence, Edwin believes he can accomplish great things without losing sight of the work required to reach them.
The upcoming season has one major team goal is to win a championship. He also wants to become a better all-around player, help his teammates improve, and continue finding ways to contribute to winning basketball. His personal challenge is to work on his game every day and become better than he was the day before, creating progress through constant repetition instead of waiting for sudden change. That mindset fits a guard who has already learned through difficult stretches that growth rarely follows a perfectly smooth path.
A coach can expect Edwin to bring discipline, efficiency, strong academics, and a mindset that values winning more than personal numbers. He wants his size and lethal perimeter shooting to create problems offensively, while his growing defensive ability gives him another way to leave his mark. His fire comes from wanting to see how far basketball can take him, with college basketball, a professional career, and ultimately the NBA among the dreams that push him through those daily workouts. Edwin knows the journey will include wins, setbacks, and difficult stretches, but he embraces that process because every challenge gives him another reason to improve.
I assess that Edwin has the tools to become a dynamic shooting threat because his size, smooth perimeter touch, and understanding of spacing allow him to find good looks without forcing the action. His ability to read rotations and move intelligently away from the ball adds value to his scoring, while improved defensive instincts give him another avenue to impact possessions. The combination of shooting range, physical strength, and sharp court vision gives his game plenty of ways to create an impact.
Edwin’s fierce dedication stands out through the way he's continued developing even without regular gym access, turning an outdoor hoop into the home of hundreds of daily repetitions. Becoming quicker, stronger, and more consistent defensively has expanded what he can bring, while faith and an unwavering love for basketball continue feeding his hunger. His championship goal keeps winning at the center of his focus, and the work he pours into each day shows a player determined to keep earning every bit of progress that comes his way. Stay tuned.
