Jersey-Rae Loy
5’7” PG / SG | Class of 2027
Ringgold High School – Ringgold, GA
AAU: East Tennessee Air 2027 Ice
GPA: 4.0
Jersey-Rae steps on the floor with a calm presence that never wavers, no matter the moment. Pressure doesn’t shake her; it sharpens her. She takes control, lifts her teammates, and brings an energy that keeps everyone locked in and ready. That leadership shows up in every possession, whether she’s handling the ball, directing traffic, or stepping up in big moments. She plays the game with purpose, staying positive and keeping her team connected from start to finish.
There’s a deep love for the game that fuels everything she does, and it shows in how she values both sides of the ball equally. Offense might grab attention, but defense is where she sets the tone. She takes pride in doing the little things that change games, especially taking charges. Over 50 charges taken in her high school career speaks loud and clear about her toughness, awareness, and willingness to sacrifice for her team. That’s not luck, that’s instinct mixed with effort and timing. She doesn’t shy away from contact; she embraces it.
That defensive mindset carries into how she competes every night. Jersey-Rae often takes on the challenge of guarding the best player on the floor, stepping into that role without hesitation. She stays active, creates disruption, and makes hustle plays that swing momentum. Whether it’s sliding her feet, reading passing lanes, or stepping in to draw a charge, she finds ways to impact winning that go far beyond scoring.
Offensively, she’s just as dangerous. A quick release and confident touch from deep make her a constant threat, while her improved ability to attack the rim and score under pressure adds another layer. She’s proven she can rise in big moments, hitting shots when it matters most. That balance makes her tough to contain, because she doesn’t rely on just one way to get it done.
Her season numbers reflect that complete game. Averaging 18 points, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds per game, she delivers the stat sheet stuffer. Sitting at 1,176 career points, with a high of 42 in a single game, she’s already built a strong foundation with more to come. Those numbers aren’t just production; they’re a reflection of consistency and impact night after night.
The season itself had defining moments that helped shape the team. Early on, things were still coming together, but that shift hit during the Christmas tournament against Blessed Trinity, Calhoun, and Adairsville. That’s when everything started clicking. The underclassmen stepped up, confidence grew, and the team began to play connected basketball. That stretch built belief, and from there, everything started trending in the right direction.
The recognition followed the work. Offensive Player of the Year three straight seasons from 2024- 2026, Class 2A All-State honors, and multiple All-Region selections highlight just how impactful she’s been. But even with those achievements, the mindset stays the same. Stay hungry, keep working, and keep building.
She sets high standards for herself, pushing toward goals that demand more. Joining the 1,1000-point club was one milestone, but she’s not stopping there. Reducing turnovers, becoming a true point guard, and proving she belongs among the top players in the region continue to drive her. There’s a constant push to grow, to lead, and to elevate everyone around her.
Her impact goes beyond scoring and stats. Jersey-Rae is a competitor who plays with grit, embraces the tough moments, and does whatever it takes to win. She takes pride in the details, the hustle plays, the defensive stops, and the moments that don’t always show up on the stat sheet but decide games.
Looking ahead, the focus is to lead her team to the state playoffs, reach 2,000 career points, and continue playing at the next level after graduation. With her work ethic, mindset, and complete game, she’s building something special that keeps gaining momentum.
I assess that Jersey-Rae is a tough, high-IQ guard who impacts the game on both ends with consistency and effort. Her leadership, defensive instincts, and ability to perform under pressure make her a player who elevates her team in multiple ways.
As she continues to grow as a floor general and expand her offensive game, Jersey-Rae has the potential to become a complete guard at the next level. Her toughness, awareness, and competitive drive give her a strong foundation, and her ability to step up in big moments makes her a player coaches can trust in any situation. Stay tuned.
