Lauryn is proving that the game isn't always won by the biggest scorer, but by the one who refuses to let anything come easy. If she had to describe herself in just a few words, she calls her game "a defensive wall," and after watching the impact she makes all over the floor, it is easy to understand exactly what she means. Every possession becomes a challenge because Lauryn takes pride in making life miserable for whoever stands across from her, refusing to allow easy baskets, easy drives, or easy nights. Defense is where she has built her identity, but the heart, effort, and determination she brings every trip down the floor reach far beyond what shows up on the stat sheet.

Even after missing two games because of illness, Lauryn put together an impressive season by playing in 19-21 games while finishing with around 150 points, 163 rebounds, 38 assists, 24 steals, and 28 blocks. Every memory, every accomplishment, and every opportunity meant something to her because she never takes the game for granted, giving all the credit to God for allowing her to compete. If one performance rises above the rest, it was her dominant game against the Dixie Hornets when she stuffed the stat sheet with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 7 blocks. That game wasn't just about the numbers because it reminded her of something she has believed all along, which is that even when people overlook her, she knows she has everything it takes to help a team win in countless ways that don't always receive the spotlight.

The biggest growth in Lauryn's game came on the defensive side of the ball, where experience, patience, and timing started coming together. She learned when to anticipate passing lanes, how to stay in front of quicker opponents without reaching, and how to better time her shot blocks instead of chasing them. Those improvements have made her even more disruptive because she is no longer relying only on intensity, but combining that relentless motor with smarter decisions and better instincts every time she steps onto the floor.

Not every season unfolds exactly the way a player hopes, and Lauryn had to navigate the challenge of accepting a smaller role than she held the year before. Instead of allowing frustration to steal her confidence, she turned that obstacle into motivation by realizing that impact is never measured only by minutes, touches, or headlines. She embraced doing whatever her team needed, continued believing in herself, and came away stronger because the experience built character while teaching her that quitting was never an option.

This offseason has become all about elevating the parts of her game that can unlock another level. She is putting in extra work on her ball-handling, catch-and-shoot consistency, and finishing through contact so she can become an even bigger offensive threat to complement everything she already brings defensively. Her goals are to earn All-State honors and receive her first college offer. She believes her strong grades have already taken care of the classroom side of the equation, and now she wants to prove she belongs at the next level every time she walks onto the court.

While many people only notice the games, Lauryn understands that improvement happens long before tipoff. She spends time studying WNBA and college basketball, picking apart the little details that great players do while also recognizing the mistakes in her own game that still need work. That willingness to learn continues to push her forward, while her greatest source of motivation never changes because she believes every day starts with another blessing from God, another breath in her lungs, and another chance to chase the game she loves with everything she has.

As another season approaches, Lauryn wants her coaches to know they can count on her no matter the situation because she will always be ready to work, compete, and do whatever the team needs. Fans should expect a more explosive version of her game, featuring fewer turnovers, more scoring, and even more exciting plays without sacrificing the defensive intensity that has already become her calling card.

If a college coach watches Lauryn for the first time, she hopes they immediately notice her lockdown perimeter defense and her refusal to back down from any challenge. More than anything, she wants them to remember that mistakes never define her because she always moves on to the next play, learns from every experience, welcomes coaching, and constantly searches for ways to improve. That mindset may be the strongest part of her game because talent can open doors, but humility, resilience, and coachability are often what keep them open.

I assess that Lauryn has built her game on toughness, energy, and making winning plays that rarely demand attention but always earn respect. Her rebounding, shot blocking, defensive awareness, and willingness to embrace whatever role her team needs make her an easy fit for programs that value energy, accountability, and selfless basketball. As her offensive confidence continues to grow, she has every opportunity to become an even more complete force on both ends of the floor.

Lauryn's ceiling continues to rise because she combines natural defensive instincts with a relentless work ethic and an attitude that refuses to make excuses. Her ability to guard multiple positions, rebound outside her area, accept coaching, and respond positively to adversity gives her qualities that can't be taught. If she continues developing her handles, perimeter shooting, and finishing through contact while maintaining the defensive edge that defines her, expect her recruiting attention to grow as she continues proving she belongs at the next level.
