Levi is the next dynamic undersized guard who can score on all three levels. Levi is a fierce, scrappy defender with an extremely high motor and competitive edge that outworks everyone on the floor on both ends. Levi is a dazzling passer and a solid defender. Levi is fearless and mixes it up on the boards as well. Simply put, Levi is a blue-collar stud! Levi's greatest strengths are his faith, his love for the game, and the intense passion he plays with.
This past season, Levi averaged 9.5 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. Levi's biggest motivator going into next season is mindset, specifically changing a critical team mindset from last year into an environment of comradery and growth that will take the talent they have had all along and propel it into a winning season. Levi's goals this upcoming season are to keep his body healthy and play his heart out. The biggest challenge Levi feels in this upcoming season is changing the narrative and trusting each other to dig deep and work hard to become the best we can be
Levi didn't play AAU this summer but focused on focus on individual skill development. Levi's goals for the summer season were to gain 10 pounds of muscle, become a more explosive athlete, and become a great shooter with the biggest focus area for improvement to continue to work on refining and becoming a true point guard, becoming an even better ball handler and handling pressure with the ball in his hands. Levi did accomplish his goals before the summer. Levi worked on his body in the weight room and focused heavily on becoming the best shooter he could be, both of which have opened up the game for him.
Levi's biggest improvement from this summer is becoming a knockdown shooter. Levi knew that this was the biggest limitation on his game last year, and already, it has elevated his game dramatically. Levi feels playing with and against very high-level players this summer has unlocked a new level of confidence and excitement to basketball as a whole, with the toughest team that he played this summer being Bridgeport High because of their team play, chemistry, and 3-point shooting ability.
If Levi could isolate one moment from this offseason that could define it as a whole was the invitation to play with the WV Blue Chips fall league team. This confirmed to Levi that his hard work was paying off, and he had what it took to play with some of the best guys in the state. The one thing that Eli would highlight as the most important part of his recruiting is his faith in Jesus. Levi's recruiting process started much later than most but as he has learned to trust and seek God, he has been faithful to provide the right opportunities with the right people.
What inspires Levi the most on the court is playing with high-level competitors and competing with people who love to play as much as he does. Even when facing adversity Levi uses it as fuel to elevate his game even more.
Levi says to those coming two pieces of advice he would give to a freshman coming into High School basketball is to never leave the court without learning something, and that hard work pays off.
Levi's love for the game compels him to press on and grow as a player every time he steps on the court and feels that along with his relentless work ethic on both ends of the floor whether winning or losing he will leave it all on the court on both ends until the final buzzer is what separates him from others.
Levi believes that the sky's the limit in terms of where he is capable of playing. Right now, Levi sees himself as a low D2 to D3 player, but his faith in God and relentless work ethic can take him anywhere.
I assess that after a summer of intense work that has seen Levi evolve into a devising scoring option to match that blue-collar swagger and relentless work ethic on and off the court, his potential is soaring right now, as well as his confidence. Levi has validated his ability to stand out even among some of the best talent in WV. This will be a huge breakout season I see Levi's stock going through the room, and he is a rock-solid D2 prospect at worst. If the trend of improvement continues to elevate and expand his game there is no ceiling to how high he can fly. Stay tuned this will certainly be a show to watch.
