RJ is a fierce, physical force with the instincts of a floor general and the frame of a forward, an explosive mismatch nightmare who plays with purpose and intelligence. He’s a big guard who thrives on identifying weaknesses in the defense and exploiting them with strength, savvy, and relentless hustle. He crashes the glass with authority, controls the tempo with his IQ, and sets the tone on both ends with his leadership. His court awareness and willingness to be coached make him a rare blend of size and smarts. Whether he's bullying smaller guards in the post or facilitating the offense with poise, his presence is felt immediately. That edge is only growing stronger, and this offseason, he’s locked in on becoming a more consistent shooter, a true defensive stopper, and a pass-first weapon with point guard instincts.
After stepping fully into his role as an offensive and defensive leader, RJ exploded for 19 points and 9 rebounds per game this season while shooting a blistering 63.4% inside the arc, 34% from deep, and 77% from the line. His effective field goal percentage (60%) and Vps (1.43) reflect just how efficient and valuable he’s become on the floor. That spike in scoring didn’t just happen but came from work, belief, and a refusal to stay the same. Now, his focus is locked on becoming more complete, improving his passing, tightening up his lateral movement on defense, and evolving into a total game-changer. He’ll be playing with the Georgia Stars this AAU season with one goal: exposure. The spotlight is coming, especially as he eyes EYBL Session 4 and sets his sights on reaching the 1,000-point club and leading his team to a state title.
What fuels RJ is watching his teammates eat, getting them involved brings him to life. That unselfish drive, paired with his competitive fire, makes him a rare breed. When facing adversity, he dials in on what he can control and stays composed. The best coaching advice he has received is, “Give up what is good for what is great.” That carries over into everything he does, on and off the floor. Away from basketball, he enjoys playing piano, relaxing with video games, and spending quality time with family and friends, always staying grounded in what matters.
I assess that RJ's combination of size, vision, and motor makes him a problem at the next level. His rebounding ability from the guard position, high basketball IQ, and willingness to lead on both ends bring undeniable value to any program. With continued growth in his shooting and playmaking, he’s poised to be a difference-maker who can elevate the entire team.
Expect a breakout summer on the EYBL circuit and a monster junior season ahead. His potential stretches beyond stats, RJ has the tools, mindset, and hunger to dominate as a versatile, high-impact guard with a college-ready frame and next-level intangibles. Stay tuned.
