For Justin, committing to the United States Naval Academy wasn’t just a decision; it was divine direction. “The Navy felt right because that’s where God showed me light,” he said. “The light wasn’t only through the opportunity but through the coaches. They made me feel so appreciated and valued as a player.” After being overlooked and underestimated, the offer wasn’t just validation, it was fulfillment. The hours in empty gyms, the early mornings, and the sacrifices all became worth it.

That relentless work ethic was born in middle school, when his mom was right there, rebounding every morning before class, investing time and love to help her son chase a dream. Even after practices, the grind continued with more drills, more sweat, more drive. “Sometimes the best part of my day was just lying down at night,” Justin said, “although I love the process.” It’s that deep love for the game, and for the people who’ve stood beside him, that defines everything he does.

Faith has always been Justin’s compass. Through the adversity, the doubt, and the long road back from being overlooked, his relationship with Jesus gave him peace and purpose. “Having Jesus in my corner has always helped with my confidence because He already has my future planned out,” Justin said. “I just have to put in the work and walk with faith.” That faith has carried him through every setback, molded his humility, and kept him grounded while the spotlight grew brighter.

Heading into his final high school run, Justin’s mission is to play every game like it’s his last and leave no regrets behind. “I’m not leaving any regrets behind, and I don’t fear anyone,” he said. “I want to encourage my teammates and show them that every game should be played like it’s your last.” Expect to see a confident three-level scorer who reads defenders, controls the tempo, shoots from deep, and finishes through contact. Expect leadership, emotion, and fire.

He doesn’t take any of it for granted. “I want to thank my mother for always being part of my journey,” Justin said. “She’s given up so much time and money for me to just play a sport I love.” His gratitude also extends to his teammates and coaches. “Without them, I wouldn’t have my competitive edge or my deeper love for the game. Every coach I’ve had believed in me and gave me the chance to show what I can do.”

At Navy, Justin sees an opportunity to grow, not just as a player, but as a man of faith and service. “No matter where I find my role at the Naval Academy, I will do it for God’s glory,” he said. His drive to push others and lead with love will make him a culture-changer from day one.

To younger athletes chasing their dreams, Justin’s message is, “Stop comparing yourself to others. That will rob your joy and take your confidence. God has a plan, and with hard work and dedication, it will always work out. Everyone has their own race, and remember to have fun.”

For Justin, this commitment is about more than basketball. It’s about purpose. “It means I can leave a legacy on the court,” he said. “It means I can go somewhere that will teach me how to grow as a person.” To Navy fans, he promises one thing: “You’re getting a kid that can get hot from the arc and take pride in defense.”

And through it all, his faith remains his anchor. “Without Jesus, none of this is possible,” Justin said. “Without Him, I’d have no purpose. I always fall short of Him, but every time, He forgives. He loves you for who you are, and basketball is how I glorify God by making an impact on the younger generation.”
