"All Earned, Nothing Given: Built on Work, Trust, and Purpose"

Xavier Bland

@BlandXavier4

6'3, 185lbs, Class of 2026

Stuart Hall, VA

Committed to Regent University

This commitment did not come from chasing hype or empty promises but from consistency, trust, and people who showed up the same way every step of the process. Regent University separated itself because the interest was real and steady, backed by action instead of talk, with coaches who stayed connected, checked in often, and made it clear Xavier mattered throughout the entire journey. The campus, dorms, and location all fit, but what truly made the decision clear was the relationship built with the staff and how naturally everything aligned once visits happened, from the style of play to the vision for his role, making it obvious this was the right place to call home.

The road to this moment was built quietly long before announcements or attention followed, through countless hours in the gym, long nights in the weight room, and shots piled on top of shots when nobody was watching. It meant choosing workouts over weekends, recovery over comfort, and discipline over distractions, while forming habits that stacked day after day through staying in shape, eating right, sleeping right, and treating the work seriously long before it ever paid off. Those sacrifices added up and created the foundation that carried him here.

Along the way, there were tests in the form of injuries and illness that could have shaken confidence, but Xavier never allowed setbacks to slow him down or change his focus. When facing adversity, the response stayed the same, keeping his head down, staying locked in, and trusting the process even when the outcome was uncertain, knowing the work would eventually speak.

With the commitment now official, the mindset does not change at all, as the focus remains on helping his team win, doing whatever is needed on any given night, and chasing another VISAA State Championship while competing the right way every time he steps on the floor. Leadership shows itself through preparation, effort, and consistency, and that is how Xavier plans to attack the rest of the season.

Faith has anchored every part of this journey, especially during moments when things were not always going his way, trusting that everything would unfold how it was meant to. Prayer kept his focus steady, belief kept his confidence intact, and committing fully to his goals while trusting God with the results allowed him to move forward with peace instead of pressure, guiding his decisions and keeping the bigger picture in view.

Family played a huge role behind the scenes, carrying the unseen load through travel, expenses, long drives, and constant encouragement while pushing him to work harder, stay disciplined, and continue chasing what he loved. Their sacrifices never wavered, and Xavier knows this moment does not happen without their support and belief.

Committing to Regent University is proof that the work is paying off, but it is far from the finish line, as this is only the next step in a much bigger journey. He is determined to arrive ready, embrace the grind ahead, and give everything he has on and off the court to help the program succeed, earning everything and being someone his teammates can depend on every day.

While his three-ball is well known, Xavier is hungry to be recognized as a complete player who impacts the game on both ends, continues to get stronger, causes problems defensively, and becomes even more dangerous as a passer who values ball movement and shared success over chasing numbers. Winning the right way and making teammates better remains the priority.

For younger players watching, the message is to stay patient, stay prepared, and never let others define who you are, while identifying weaknesses and attacking them daily, even when recognition comes slowly. Being a winner and lifting teammates will always matter more than any stat line.

Gratitude runs deep for everyone who helped shape this journey, including God, family, coaches, teammates, teachers, friends, recruiters, opponents, writers, and podcasters, all of whom played a role in ways both big and small. Special thanks go to Coach Allen and Coach Hollenbeck for believing in him and opening the door, and to Regent University for welcoming him into the family as he prepares to help show what Regent basketball is all about. Royals Rise.

Faith deserves its own space because it continues to guide every step, keeping him grounded through uncertainty and shaping how he competes, leads, and carries himself at the next level.

Moving forward, expect steady growth, hunger, and consistency every time he steps on the floor, with the potential to become a complete guard who impacts the game on both ends while helping build a strong winning culture. This commitment is not the end of the story but the beginning of the next chapter. Stay tuned as he is determined to write that chapter on his own terms. Success will surely follow.
