Cyrus is a fierce three-level scorer whose game is built on pressure, pace, and punishment. He thrives on attacking the lane with confidence, slicing into gaps, and forcing defenders to make impossible decisions. Play him soft, and he walks into a pull-up middy that feels automatic. Step up, and he explodes by or through you, finishing strong at the rim with intent. His ball-handling allows him to control the tempo, and once he sees daylight, he is gone. Cyrus loves to get the transition game flowing, pushing the ball himself, slicing into the lane, or kicking out to teammates on the run before defenses can settle. He attacks every possession with edge and purpose, turning chaos into opportunity.
What separates him even more is his activity and motor on the boards. Cyrus gobbles up rebounds like candy, instantly turning defense into offense. One board is all he needs before it is off to the races. He has been a double-double machine all season, impacting games far beyond just scoring, and his first in-game dunk this year was a clear snapshot of the confidence and growth in his game. The fire is real. The potential is real, and this breakout season is being driven by confidence and hunger.
After averaging 9.2 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists last season, Cyrus has exploded to 22.7 points per game, 11.3 rebounds, and 2.7 assists this year. His biggest improvement has come across the board, especially in his ability to consistently get to the rim and finish plays. He continues to focus on extending his range and hitting the three-ball at a higher clip, knowing that adding that weapon only makes him harder to contain.
The goal this season is to keep playing his game and get to the state tournament together as a team. Looking ahead, the focus is already on the offseason, getting better in every area, chasing 1000 career points, and earning another trip back to Charleston. Big moments fuel him. A tough bucket in traffic or a timely three can light the spark.
When facing adversity, Cyrus stays locked in. He plays through it, resists feeding into frustration, and trusts his game to carry him forward. Though he holds no interests or offers now, the production, growth, and impact speak loudly on their own.
I assess that Cyrus brings a college program a relentless downhill scorer who applies constant rim pressure while impacting the game on the boards. His ability to rebound, push tempo, and score at all three levels gives coaches a versatile guard /wing who can change momentum quickly. His motor and physical approach allow him to influence winning even when shots are contested or defenses tighten.
Moving forward, expect continued growth as his outside shooting becomes more consistent and his confidence continues to rise. Cyrus is entering a stage where his physical tools, production, and mindset are aligning. With sustained development and exposure his will be a name to remember. Stay tuned.
