Lawrence County HS, KY

CJ is a dynamic wing who plays the game with the vision of a guard and the physical edge of a forward, combining a high IQ, athleticism, and toughness into a force that impacts every possession. He loves dropping dimes just as much as he loves gobbling up rebounds, showing a natural balance between creating for others and asserting himself inside. A true high flyer with strength and bounce, CJ finishes above the rim, controls space on the block, and brings electric energy off the bounce that immediately puts pressure on the defense.

CJ size creates matchup problems all over the floor. He stretches the defense with his perimeter shooting, forcing defenders to honor him well beyond the paint, while also handling the ball comfortably for his size and attacking gaps with purpose. What separates him is his feel for the game. He sees the floor like a guard, makes smart reads in traffic, and consistently sets teammates up for easy buckets with clean, timely passes. Defensively, his length changes the game. He blocks shots, alters finishes at the rim, and disrupts passing lanes, turning defense into momentum and extra possessions.

CJ is averaging 12 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks per game, production that reflects his all-around impact. He elevated his level in the games he was looking forward to the most, exploding for 23 points, 16 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 3 steals at Floyd Central, then backing it up with 17 points, 15 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 4 steals against Tug Valley. After multiple losses to Tug in the past, CJ finally earned that win, taking home Player of the Game honors while showing exactly how much those moments mattered to him. On the season, he is also averaging 3 assists per game, further proving how much responsibility he carries as a connector and decision-maker.

One of CJ’s biggest improvements from last season has been the consistency of his effort and overall motor. That growth has shown up most clearly on the boards, where rebounding has become a priority. He attacks the ball, uses his length, and competes through contact instead of waiting for plays to come to him. The commitment to running the floor hard, battling for position, and finishing possessions has made him a dependable double-double machine and elevated his value to Lawrence County.

CJ wants to continue building on that motor and effort while staying locked in on rebounding and becoming more confident playing out of the post with his back to the basket. Competing against a very tough schedule with quality teams has been one of the most impactful parts of his season, forcing him to battle, respond to adversity, and continue improving while winning games in the process.

Every time CJ steps on the floor, coaches can expect consistency and reliability. He plays the game the right way and always looks to make the correct basketball play. Whether it is grabbing extra rebounds, delivering the right pass, stepping out to hit a three, or anchoring the defense, CJ is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team win. His mindset stays rooted in controlling the controllable and remaining mentally tough, especially when momentum shifts or shots aren't falling.

I assess that CJ brings size, versatility, and basketball IQ that translate well to the next level. His ability to rebound at a high rate, defend multiple positions, and initiate offense makes him a strong fit for college programs that value unselfish play and two-way impact. His court vision and willingness to make the right play help stabilize lineups and elevate teammates around him.

Moving forward, CJ is evolving into a dependable double-double wing who continues to grow into his frame and expand his interior game. As his confidence on the block increases and his motor remains consistent, his overall impact continues to rise. Expect steady growth, reliable production, and a player who embraces tough matchups, responds to adversity, and finds ways to impact winning every night he steps on the floor. Stay tuned.
