Felix plays the game the right way, disciplined, smart, and with steady energy that teammates can count on. A lefty guard with a silky touch from deep, he combines his shooting ability with fierce decision-making that keeps his team in rhythm. His game is built on fundamentals and quick execution, and his effort shows on both ends of the floor. Defensively, his growth has been noticeable, making him a tougher presence against opposing guards. Coaches can always expect energy, hustle, and a willingness to do the little things that win games.
Though his school didn’t keep stats last season, Felix’s improvement has been clear. His defensive ability has been on level, and he’s been intentional about developing his leadership and facilitating skills to round out his game. Playing point guard with a group of new teammates was a meaningful test last season, giving him a chance to lead while adapting quickly to unfamiliar roles. This offseason, his focus has been on becoming more vocal, guiding his team, and preparing to take on an even bigger role.
Felix’s AAU season was locked in on gaining exposure and improving his leadership, and he feels those goals were accomplished. He looks forward to building on that momentum in the upcoming year, helping his team win games and continuing to grow as a floor general. What fires him up most are those big defensive plays, clutch shots, or perfectly timed passes that bring energy to his team. He thrives off those moments when the whole bench erupts in excitement.
When facing adversity, Felix stays composed, slowing the game down in his mind to make the right play. The best advice he’s ever received is, "Always play his game and never let anyone speed him up". Off the court, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, relaxing with video games, and watching movies.
Felix Ford is a prospect to keep an eye on, fundamental, quick, and reliable, with a game that continues to evolve. He’s set to showcase that growth on bigger stages like the Labor Day College Showcase, where his shooting, decision-making, and defensive energy will make him a name worth remembering.
I assess that Felix’s skill set translates well for a program looking for a dependable guard who values fundamentals. His ability to knock down shots and defend with energy makes him a steady force on the floor. Add in his growing leadership qualities and willingness to facilitate, and he becomes a player who can help a college system function smoothly while also bringing defensive effort and hustle every night.
Looking ahead, Felix has the potential to gain a strong role as a reliable guard who keeps his team organized while making timely plays. Expect his leadership and facilitation to continue to improve as he gains more experience at point guard. With his commitment to composure and playing the game the right way, he is poised to be a guard who will keep getting better each season and provide value on both ends moving forward. Stay tuned.
