Max Wilcox @MaxWilcox19 6'3 class of 25 Charleston Catholic High School. This extremely talented young star was impressive everytime I saw him this summer. Scrappy and high energy fueling his team with high level performance. He was just named the number two combo guard in his class for a reason. Max isn't just hype but electric on both ends with his nonstop motor and does it all out there. Max is a triple threat scoring option legitimately. Knocking down the long range bomb. Explosive off the bounce with fearless intent and purpose. That first step is wicked and catches defenders by surprise causing real problems trying to contain him. He is master facilitator and can make things happen quickly. Over the summer Max improved his footwork and movement without the ball. Max also improved his free throw shoot and became a real beast on the boards almost averaged double figures a game by the end of AAU session with Reign Elite. One game Max gobbled up boards to the tune of 15 reb. His AAU average was 20 points, 9 rebounds,5 assists, and 5 steals, and 2 blks per game. Max is a game changer with his defense,. He is fast and, strong and fearless and the numbers reflect that. This was better than his sophomore season averages which was 15points , 4 rebounds,3assits, and 3 steals. This earned him second team All state. That's impressive as a sophomore. Max's goal to elevate his game even more with more consistent shooting . The bigger goal is lead his team to a state championship and doing whatever the team needs to get that done . He is a team player but I see first team All state this season. It's going to be a breakout season after this massive summer. This young star can guard multiple positions and that energy he brings fuels his team. Coaches can count on this fire and leadership every single minute Max is on the court. And he excels in the classroom. This kid checks every box on both ends and the program that commits will get one of the best in his class. Can't wait to catch him next month in Morgantown.
