Gabriel is a relentless competitor, a dynamic force on both ends of the floor who plays with electric energy and a non-stop motor. His game is built on a lethal mix of speed, skill, and sheer determination. With a crafty handle and explosive first step, he slices through defenses, getting into the paint with ease while keeping his dribble alive like a seasoned floor general. Gabriel's mid-range pull-up is smooth and controlled, a weapon he’s mastered to keep defenders guessing. But what separates him is his defensive tenacity. Gabriel takes it personally when an opponent scores, locking in with an intensity that fuels every possession. Now developing a more consistent three-point shot, he’s determined to become the total package, a true two-way playmaker capable of impacting every facet of the game.
Gabriel averaged 20 points, 3.6 assists, 6.4 rebounds, and 2.8 steals per game, validating his all-around impact. His biggest improvement this season was his shot selection. Instead of forcing his way to the rim, he’s reading defenses, taking what they give him, and knocking down shots in rhythm. Gabriel’s offseason focus is adding strength, becoming more explosive, tightening his handle, and evolving into a knockdown shooter from beyond the arc, understanding that a reliable three-ball is a must at the next level. Gabriel's motivation is to play basketball, which is what makes him feel alive. When he’s not playing or working on his game, he feels like he’s wasting time. That passion is what keeps him in the gym, chasing greatness.
This AAU season, Gabriel is playing with YKD Kings while also attending key tryouts, looking for the right fit to elevate his game even further. His goal isn’t tied to any specific event or showcase but approaches every tournament with the same fire, ready to dominate no matter the stage. For him, it’s all about growth, learning the mental side, staying locked in, and pushing himself to be better every time he steps on the court.
Off the court, Gabriel is just as competitive. Whether it's working out, watching film, or breaking down the game, he’s fully invested in his basketball journey. But beyond that, he enjoys the mental aspect of sports, learning how to control his thoughts and not overthink every play. The best advice Gabriel has ever received is, "Don’t chase perfection, just keep learning and improving." That has helped him handle adversity, teaching him to push through tough moments, trust the process, and keep going no matter what.
I assess that Gabriel’s ability to attack the rim, control the tempo, and disrupt opponents defensively makes him a valuable asset for any college program. His explosiveness allows him to break down defenders, while his improving perimeter shot will make him even more dangerous. His defensive swagger, taking offense when someone scores on him,, shows a level of competitiveness that translates well to the next level. As he continues developing as a three-point shooter, he has the potential to fit effectively into multiple roles, whether as a lead guard or a 3-and-D player who can knock down shots and lock up on defense. Gabriel's ability to keep his dribble alive and create opportunities for teammates adds even more value to his game.
With his relentless work ethic and burning love for the game, Gabriel’s ceiling is high. As he continues to add strength and consistency to his jumper, expect him to elevate his game even further, becoming an even more complete player. His hunger to compete at the next level and his willing to play anywhere, any level, just to keep chasing his dream along with his mindset and skill set, the future is bright, and any program that gives him a shot is getting a player who will give everything he has, every single day. Stay tuned.
